Fascinating. It never occurred to me to view the ordination of women as tokenism but it makes sense.
I grew up with a religious family and always felt at odds with it. Dad was the head of the house and the authority. Mum was his 'helpmeet’, her views considered but secondary. It never sat well with me and I left religion behind as soon as I left home. I think it took me years to truly shake off the dogma though.
